Why Set Menus Instead of À la Carte?
Good quality dining has been a core part of the Aurora Village experience since the very beginning.
Over the past few years, our philosophy has shifted more and more towards local ingredients, small producers, sustainability, and traditional Finnish flavors.

The Green Key Certificate has also guided us to increase the use of organic and responsibly sourced products in our kitchen.

Every Set Menu also includes a vegetarian or vegan alternative, and we are happy to accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions — we only ask that guests inform us in advance, so our kitchen can prepare the best possible experience for everyone.

At first, weekly rotating Set Menus might sound restrictive — but in reality, they allow us to better quality, more variety with less waste. By planning our menus carefully, we can focus on higher-quality ingredients while keeping operations sustainable and efficient.

Many of our guests stay for several nights or even a week. We want to ensure that each evening brings something new and thoughtfully crafted, reflecting the changing seasons and local Lapland produce.

If these same options were converted into an à la carte list, our winter menu would include 11 starters, 13 mains, and 12 desserts. With ingredients like hand-picked local berries, reindeer, and fish from Lake Inari, such a menu would not only be extremely expensive and wasteful, but also nearly impossible to execute given the limited number of local suppliers.

We’ve been receiving excellent feedback about our food for quite some time now, and we warmly encourage all our guests to try our Set Menus with an open mind.

After all — good food made with love tends to taste good to everyone.
