You get a nice bag of lichen to feed to the reindeer living at Aurora Village. Reindeer loves lichen! They come close and with a little patience they will eat from your hand. This is a good time to take close-up photos with reindeer too.

We will drive to a reindeer farm in the fell region of Saariselkä to enjoy a calm 45-minute ride in a sleigh pulled by a reindeer, followed by hot drinks and stories about reindeer herding.

Meet your guide at the Aurora Village reception who will take you on a short walk to Reindeer Park. Your reindeer sleigh is awaiting and will take you on a peaceful winter adventure in a traditional ‘raito’ form where the reindeer walk one after another, each pulling a sleigh.
Sit back and enjoy the sleigh ride through the snowy forest.
When is the best time to see the northern lights?
You can experience the aurora borealis here in Finnish Lapland from end of August until mid April.
