Hop on board to our minibus and discover the Nellim wilderness area. Your guide will take you through the village to the Russian border zone, the beautiful Paatsjoki River bridge and the Nellimjärvi historic wood flume. Before heading back to Ivalo, we will stop at the wilderness church for photos and stories about the site and the Skolt Sami culture.

Reindeer is the center of it all.
If it wasn’t for reindeer, we never could have settled here in the Arctic. The extremes of temperature and the amount of light require hardiness and resilience, nutritious food and shelter. That all has reindeer provided us, and means of transportation.
Reindeer herding is still the most original livelihood, still going strong. And reindeer keep providing us with the food and craft materials.
In this craft work shop You will be making a beautiful tassel that You can use for key ring or bag charm. You’ll feel the unique features of reindeer leather and antler pieces and hear stories of reindeer herding and Sami handicrafts.
Your instructor is a local craftswoman and Master Shoemaker. The workshop suits for all people interested in the local culture.

Your guide will drive you along beautiful landscapes formed by several small lakes and the great Lake Inari. We will take a tour in the museum. The guide will walk with you and will be there for you in case of questions. You can also have your own time in the museum of many international awards.
Siida museum displays the original way of living of Sámi people and the Lappish wilderness with its eight seasons of the year. This is an exciting day to see and hear about the Lappish way of living.
