Our Fat Bikes are bicycles with huge fat tires, so they roll well even on snow! Electronic engine assists you as you pedal through the forest trails with us. Get some fresh air and ride the bike with us to a spot where we enjoy some snacks and hot drinks by the open fire.

Ice Fishing Nearby

Try your luck fishing through the ice. You will be taken to a nearby river where your guide will show you how to drill a hole in the ice and prepare the bates for ice-fishing. Enjoy the silence and the pure arctic air while luring the fish to bite. Catch is not guaranteed, but you never know!

Racing on ice and snow! Our special winter go-karts are fun to drive on icy track laid out in the forest near Aurora Village. The lap timing system will tell you your lap times on a break and you may want to turn to your guide for some tips on how to tackle those slippery corners as fast as possible. Can you beat your friend’s time on the qualifying round? Who crosses the finishing line first in the competition?

We will take transportation from Aurora Village to Saariselkä by minibus.
We will hike up to the fell region of Urho Kekkonen National Park.
It is Finland’s second largest national park, comprises the fell regions of Saariselkä, as well as the forest regions of the northern sections of the municipalities of Savukoski and Salla. The task of the National Park is the preservation of the native forest, bog and fell countryside.
Good outdoor clothes and sturdy footwear are recommended.

When is the best time to see the northern lights?
You can experience the aurora borealis here in Finnish Lapland from end of August until mid April. If the northern lights are visible depends on a lot of different factors like the time of the year, the solar activity and the weather.
